Who this audit is for
This engagement suits bid managers, finance leads, non-profit organisations, professional service firms and delivery consortia with a substantially complete tender response. The aim is to identify financial non-compliance, calculation defects and unsupported assumptions while there is still time to correct them.
Included in scope
We read the tender instructions, conditions, scope of work, compulsory price schedules and relevant annexures. We then trace quantities, rates, extensions, subtotals, VAT, contingencies, escalation and totals through the commercial response. The audit also checks whether the budget agrees with the implementation plan, staffing schedule, milestones and narrative.
You receive an indexed findings register that identifies the source document, clause or schedule, affected amount, risk level and recommended correction. A closing call explains material findings and answers the bid team’s questions.
Exclusions
We do not write the technical proposal, certify tax status, give legal opinions, submit the bid, or guarantee responsiveness or award. Supplier quotations and payroll assumptions are tested for consistency, but forensic verification of third-party records requires a separate engagement.
Working sequence
- Readiness call: we confirm the closing date, tender pack, budget version and decision-makers.
- Document intake: the client supplies the issued tender pack, addenda, completed schedules, budget workbook and implementation documents.
- Independent testing: the auditor records exceptions without changing the source files.
- Correction window: the bid team resolves findings and returns one controlled revision.
- Final reconciliation: we check that material corrections flow through all affected totals and schedules.
Preparation and constraints
Files should be unlocked, clearly named and supplied at least five business days before tender close. We need the full issued tender pack, not only the pricing pages. Late addenda, incomplete supplier quotations or multiple uncontrolled workbook versions can extend the review. Work remains subject to auditor availability and a signed engagement letter.
Fee and next step
Fees start at R18,500 excluding VAT for one bidder, one tender pack and one consolidated budget. Volume of schedules, consortium structure, foreign currency, bill-of-quantities complexity and urgency affect the estimate. Send the closing date and current document status for a written scope.
